Texas edged Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry to remain unbeaten.

The University of Cincinnati had an impressive win at South Florida.

Iowa remained undefeated with a win at Wisconsin.

CC Sabathia pitched an outstanding eight innings for the Yankees in game one of the ALCS.

Nikolay Davydenko completed a big weekend by upsetting Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal en route to the championship of the Shanghai Masters.

Arthur Abraham scored a K.O. over Jermain Taylor.


STOCK DOWN

The Redskins lost at home to the previously-winless Chiefs.

The Eagles and Jets were surprising losers; the Raiders stunned the Eagles while the Bills beat the Jets in overtime.

Ohio State was stunned at Purdue.

Larry Brown was fined $60,000 for criticizing officials.

Stan Van Gundy and the Magic were fined $35,000 for complaining as well.

Gilbert Arenas and the Washington Wizards were both fined $25,000 for failing to talk to the media during the preseason.
