STOCK UP

Alabama and Texas made it to the BCS Championship game.

The New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts remained unbeaten. The Saints needed to go overtime to beat the Redskins.

The San Diego Chargers won their seventh straight game.

Central Michigan quarterback Dan LeFevour set a major college record for combined touchdowns, accounting for 148 in his college career.

Cincinnati and Boise State finished unbeaten with wins on Saturday.

The New Jersey Nets broke into the win column, beating the Charlotte Bobcats.

The Big Ten finally beat the ACC in their Challenge series.


STOCK DOWN

The Pittsburgh Steelers lost their fourth straight game, this time at home to the Raiders.

Florida Panthers defenseman Keith Ballard accidently slashed his goalie's ear.

Florida State's handling of Bobby Bowden's retirement was disappointing.

Serena Williams received a record fine for her outburst at the U. S. Open. There is the threat of future suspensions in Grand Slam events.

Roy Jones Jr. was knocked out in the first round by Danny Green.

Bucks coach Scott Skiles received a one-game suspension for failing to leave the court in a timely manner after arguing a call.

Louisville was blown out at home by Charlotte.
