HOUSTON -- So I'm sitting here at the Final Four in Houston and former Sports Illustrated star Curry Kirkpatrick reminds me that Guy V. Lewis -- the man who led the University of Houston for 30 years -- is not in the Basketball Hall of Fame.

Are you kidding me?!

Think about what he did for basketball in the state of Texas. He helped integrate the sport down here.

This is a man who coached in five Final Fours! There are a lot of guys who never won a national championship that are enshrined in Springfield, Mass.

Lewis also had three players in the top 50. He meant so much to the sport of college basketball. Let him enjoy the moment while he can.

I hope he receives consideration the next time the enshrinement committee meets.
