Not surprisingly, no Major League team has won more games or more World Series over the past 25 years than the Yankees. Also, not surprisingly, excluding expansion teams, no team has a worse winning percentage over that span than the Cubs.

Perhaps what is surprising is everything else in between:

* Seventeen different teams have won the World Series and only the Devil Rays have never reached the playoffs.
* Excluding expansion teams, every franchise has won at least 95 games in their best season.
* Only the Red Sox have never lost as many as 90 games in a season.
* The Astros have reached the postseason the most often -- seven times -- without making the World Series.
