With the election season in full swing, it's only fitting that Sen. Herb Kohl (otherwise known as the Milwaukee Bucks' owner) would be entrenched in polling data. Based on our findings, the popular vote has turned against him and his franchise. Milwaukee has missed the playoffs twice since 2010's "Fear the Deer" season, and the current roster doesn't necessarily feature enough horses to ... wait for it ... buck the trend. "While Brandon Jennings is charismatic and at times spectacular, no one will mistake him -- or Monta Ellis -- for a franchise player," says Frank Madden of Brew Hoop. "It's a likable group, but likable doesn't always translate into wins."
For that matter, neither will a cosmetic change to the Bradley Center translate to a new fan experience. The arena may now be known as the BMO Harris Bradley Center, but far more enhancements are needed than nine new letters on the marquee. Predictably, BHBC lacks all the bells, whistles and amenities now commonplace in state-of-the-art facilities, but as Madden notes, "the bigger problem for fans is its configuration: since it was partly motivated to lure an NHL franchise to Milwaukee, the BC has a disproportionately smaller lower bowl and in general doesn't provide great viewing angles when you're in the cheap seats." That could explain why, despite having below-average ticket prices for the league, home games were played at 78.6 percent of capacity last season, sixth lowest in the NBA.
