Jered Weaver P

Recording a career-high 15 strikeouts versus the Blue Jays on Sunday, Jered Weaver found the key to his success was pitch location. Twelve of Weaver's 15 strikeouts were on pitches away, and nine of the strikeouts came on pitches down and away. In 2010, Weaver averaged 3.1 strikeouts per game on pitches away and 1.7 on those down and away.

Derrick Rose G

Derrick Rose solidified his status as favorite for MVP in Chicago's 16-point win over the Celtics on Thursday. By exploiting Boston's interior defense, Rose connected on seven of nine field goals from inside 5 feet. Six of those seven baskets from 5 feet or closer came in the first half, when Chicago grabbed a lead it never relinquished.

Danielle Adams C

Danielle Adams and Texas A&M won the school's first national title over Notre Dame in the NCAA women's championship game. The key to the victory was Adams' ability to dominate inside. She finished with a school tournament-record 30 points -- 22 of which came in the paint on 11-of-15 shooting from inside the lane.

Josh Beckett P

Josh Beckett fanned 10 in a two-hit, 4-0 win over the Yankees on Sunday. Beckett featured strong off-speed pitching mixed with a precise fastball. He threw 42 off-speed pitches (25 curveballs, 17 changeups), and the Yankees went 0-for-11 with six strikeouts in at-bats ending with an off-speed pitch.
