C RIK SMITS 7-4 1995 28 17.9 7.7 1.4 19.5
Comment: Wasn't a superstar, but Pacers made four conference finals and one NBA Finals with him at center
C HERB WILLIAMS 6-10 1986 27 19.9 9.1 2.2 17.9
Comment: One of the few bright spots during the ugly, losing days of the mid-'80s

SCOUTING REPORT: The big question: Do the Pacers have a superstar? McGinnis' numbers are dominant, but he did put those up in the ABA. Miller, O'Neal and Knight are also nice weapons, but are they good enough to lead the Pacers past the Bulls? Look for Indiana to put Artest on Jordan, with McGinnis and Kellogg providing muscle at forward and O'Neal and Smits clogging the middle with their shot-blocking skills. Lack of scorer at point guard hurts.
