PHOENIX SUNS ROSTER (* PER = Player Efficiency Rating)
POS PLAYER HT YEAR AGE PTS REB AST PER*
G STEVE NASH 6-3 2006 32 18.8 4.2 10.5 23.3
Comment: Imagine him running the point with all these weapons to feed no-look passes to on the break
G PAUL WESTPHAL 6-4 1979 28 24 2.0 6.5 22.6
Comment: He could shoot: 53.5% from the field in '79, one of three 1st-team All-NBA seasons
G KEVIN JOHNSON 6-1 1991 24 22.2 3.5 10.1 23.7
Comment: One of the best when healthy; his speed and scoring ability helped turn around a lackluster franchise in the late '80s
G DAN MAJERLE 6-6 1992 26 17.3 5.9 3.3 17.8
Comment: Known for his unlimited range on the jump shot, made three All-Star teams and was good defender
F SHAWN MARION 6-7 2006 27 21.8 11.9 1.8 23.7
Comment: His shot may not look pretty, but all he does is rack up the points and grab rebounds
F AMARE STOUDEMIRE 6-10 2005 22 26.0 8.9 1.6 26.6
Comment: You getting the idea that this team is going to run all game long? Let's hope he's healthy next season
F WALTER DAVIS 6-6 1979 24 23.6 4.7 4.3 23.0
Comment: Six-time All-Star who -- guess what -- could shoot the rock: 56% in '79
F TOM CHAMBERS 6-9 1990 30 27.2 7.0 2.3 20.9
Comment: A shoot-first, play-defense-later player; but was four-time All-Star who was 2nd-team All-NBA in '90 when he was fourth in scoring
F/C CONNIE HAWKINS 6-8 1970 27 24.6 10.4 4.8 19.7
Comment: Playground legend proved he could play in the big leagues: 1st-team All-NBA
C LARRY NANCE 6-10 1987 27 22.5 8.7 3.4 22.2
Comment: NBA's first slam-dunk champ was three-time All-Star and supreme shot blocker

SCOUTING REPORT: Since they've never won an NBA title, the Suns drew the seventh seed despite this star-studded roster. With Nash on the point and an entire lineup full of guys who can run and gun, look for Phoenix to try and wear down San Antonio's big men with a high-octane offense. And the half-court offense isn't exactly soft, with great outside shooting and Hawkins and Stoudemire inside. The question is if the Suns will bother to play any D.
