Scoop Jackson predicts ...
Wes Unseld sat on the bench during the first timeout, grabbing freshman Pervis Ellison by the shoulder: "You got more talent than any of us on the floor! Use it!" With those words, the kid from Savannah, Ga., came to life, putting moves on Rony Seikaly that he'd never seen before. And right before halftime, Griffith steals the ball and dunks right before the buzzer, which actually makes some of the fans pour onto the court. The Cards are up by four.

In the second half there is a battle between Syracuse's Pearl Washington and Louisville's Milt Wagner that will go down in NCAA history. Back and forth for a four-minute period they went at each other, ignoring the other eight players on the court. After getting shook by one of Pearl's crossovers, Wagner comes down court and gets fouled with 0.8 seconds left on the clock. Both shots drop from the line. Time expires.
Final score: Louisville 78, Syracuse 77

Eric Neel predicts ...
Sometimes a game boils down to one fundamental, inescapable question. For this game that question is this: Who's going to stop Dave Bing? Who's going to slow Dave Bing down? LaBradford Smith? Darrell Griffith? Not so much. Bing is the premier player on the floor and it shows. Unseld and Coleman go head-to-head in a classic junk-in-the-trunk duel, but that's a subplot. Bing scores 37, 'Cuse wins by 7.
Final score: Syracuse 77, Louisville 70
