These jerseys are tight
It takes a special sort of fan to buy a tight end's jersey. They have to pass up the glamour of defensive players, running backs, quarterbacks and receivers and go straight for those magical numbers in the 80s that can block and catch passes. Sometimes both! Their entire lives are that week of the fantasy football season when you have to start a backup tight end, only without the unexpected six-point bonus of TDs. This week, we salute these die-hards.
As always, remember to check our blog for daily updates at straightcashhomey.net, and if you find a candid shot of a gem jersey, e-mail it to us at email@example.com. Who knows, next week we could be running your snapshot of a loyal fan in an Brent Jones 49ers jersey!
Mark Chmura, Green Bay Packers: This jersey takes a stand: "I hate Mark Chmura, but I hate going shopping much more." (Found by an anonymous hero in St. Louis.)
Rickey Dudley, Cleveland Browns: Unlike the Browns' current tight end, Dudley never claimed to be a soldier. He was more of a part-time sheriff's deputy. (Found by Matt in Cleveland.)
Chad Lewis, Philadelphia Eagles: Lewis was one of few players in NFL history to leave the Eagles and then come back. There's hope yet for Philly's T.O. fans! Oh, wait. Fan. (Found by Jed in Philadelphia.)
David LaFleur, Dallas Cowboys: LaFleur was a first-round draft pick while Antonio Gates went undrafted. Not just in the NFL draft, but also in this guy's terrible fantasy league. (Found by Sean in Miami.)
Frank Wycheck, Tennessee Titans: These two jerseys? Together? It's a Music City Miracle! (Found by Ken in Nashville.)
