Finally, Greg Oden proved to us that he is, in fact, 19 years old.

His fifth foul in Saturday's game against Xavier, when he chest-passed Musketeers forward Justin Cage into a row of photographers with Ohio State down 61-59 with less than 10 seconds left, was little more than a tantrum. Instead of making a play at the ball, frustration and immaturity made Oden commit an intentional foul that should have cost the Buckeyes the game.

It was a childish move made with no eye toward the consequences. Since he didn't make a play at the ball, referee Les Jones' arms should have formed an "X," and Xavier should have gotten two free throws and the ball. Perhaps it was lucky for OSU that Jones made the call on Oden's last foul.

Jones is the same official that didn't call an intentional foul on Duke's Gerald Henderson when he broke Tyler Hansbrough's nose at the Dean Dome two weeks ago, making me wonder if such a call is against his religion. Oden probably should have cost his team its biggest game of the season with that pouty move.

Don't let that kinky beard fool you. It's more obvious than ever that Oden is just a teenager. He says he feels like a freshman? Well, he acted like a junior. A high school junior.

He's lucky he didn't wake up Sunday feeling like a loser.

Maybe Oden does need more time in school. Not just to learn a couple of post moves, but to learn to keep his wits about him when things are going badly.
