Watch this one a couple of times. Doctor-defining, gravity-defying: Late fourth quarter, Game 4, Philly's Julius Erving takes the ball up and over Laker Mark Landsberger on his way to dunkland, only to meet Kareem high at the hoop. Midflight correction: Doc floats behind the backboard, brings the ball down under the glass then up again on the other side ... long right arm, incredibly long fingers, spin, it's in! Nobody ever did it better.
– John Papanek
The Sixes were so dominant in this series that its defining moment is utterly without drama ... Unless, of course, you're Michael Cooper, and that's your head Doc is about to rain down on.
