We all saw the medal trackers that said the United States and China were dominating the Olympics.

Great for them, but consider this -- the U.S. has a population of 303,824,646 (according to July 2008 estimates on the CIA World Factbook Web site), and China is home to 1,330,044,605 people. That's a pretty big pool of athletes to pick from.

What about Bahrain? It has only 718,306 potential Olympians.

So Page 2 has decided to award a prize to the country that won the most medals per people in its home country.

And the winner is … (sorry, you have to scroll down to the bottom)

BONUS!

Breakin' up is hard to do …

Just think, if the Soviet Union had never broken up, all the medals from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan would count for one country.

33. Soviet Union
Medals: 164, Gold 43, Silver 45, Bronze 76

Somewhere, Nikolai Volkov is sadly nodding his head in agreement.
