News of the Day Two news items that say a lot about the individuals involved:

Steve Bartman turns down $25,000 to sign a photo of the infamous play from the 2003 NLCS.

• Andrew Giuliani, son of former New York City mayor Rudy, is suing Duke University after being cut from the golf team.

First, kudos to Bartman for showing class and dignity.

As for Giuliani's claim that his chances of becoming a professional golfer are being unfairly compromised, we offer these facts:

(1) You were 12th on the Duke team in average scoring last season. Out of 14 players.
(2) In the two tournaments you were actually allowed to play in, you finished 60th and 36th.
(3) Just so you know, the PGA Tour – heck, even the Nationwide Tour, if you're so inclined – isn't full of golfers who finished 60th in collegiate tournaments.
(4) Consider that there will be about 15 million lawsuits filed this year in state courts, or one every two seconds. Aren't the courts busy enough?
(5) Save the money you're paying your lawyer; you may need it to afford the $2,500 box seats next year at the new Yankee Stadium.
