Zombie mania, people!! Guts, gore, brains getting chewed! All necessary ingredients in making a cult classic.

Though we freely admit that this year's take on "Dawn of the Dead" didn't embarrass itself -- a rare thing, indeed -- there is always room for improvment ... or at least a little tweaking.

Remaking a classic is tough. Remaking the remake? An even bigger challenge. Not that Page 3 isn't up to it.

Ana (Sarah Polley)
It's rare when a bunch of Alpha-men allows a woman step up as a leader, but Ana's a girl who earns their respect. It doesn't
Jennie Finch

hurt that she's rather easy on the eyes, too. Subservient is an easier role to play when you think it might lead to a little role play? never mind. At any rate, she's a touch cookie with a touch of hot humanitarian thrown in the mix.

Kenneth (Ving Rhames)
Ana may be the group's moral center, but Kenneth's the guy truly keeps everyone in line. If his gazillion-inch biceps aren't intimidating enough,
Ben Wallace
Ben Wallace
his never-ending supply of ammo does the trick. The human equivalent of a brick wall, nothing gets past this guy. The only people in the flick not scared of him are the zombies, and they're literally braindead. Or undead. Either or.

Andre (Mekhi Phifer)
Like many of the characters, Andre's a warrior who's good with a gun. But he's also the ultimate family man, willing to take a bullet to
Doug Christie
Doug Christie
protect his clan. Open-minded and accepting towards a less than ideal scenario, he never leaves his wife's side. Some might call him "seriously whipped," but either way, it's very honorable.

Steve (Ty Burrell)
Every group needs an obnoxious jerk. Here you go. Obsessed with money and stature, this whiny jackass makes it clear from the
Ricky Davis
Ricky Davis
outset he's only looking out for himself, puts the team a distant second, and would dump everyone for his own benefit in a heartbeat. You hardly feel sorry for him when karma comes back in full force (No, we didn't spoil any surprises!!! Did you really think a guy like this wouldn't end up zombie chow?)

CJ (Michael Kelly)
In the beginning, this churlish security guard seems just like a tougher, yet equally uncooperative version of Steve. But as movie goes on,
Randy Moss

he realizes the value of teamwork and adhering to the game plan. In the end, he's an even more valuable asset to the squad by giving up control. Handlebar mustache optional.
