By Shane Igoe Special to Page 3 Jessica Biel was first introduced to audiences as good girl Mary Camden in the WB's "7th Heaven." On the big screen, she's shown versatility by taking roles as the sexy Tenley Parrish in "Summer Catch," nice girl Erin in the remake of the "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and now as vengeful vampire hunter Abigail Whistler in "Blade: Trinity."
![]() Jessica Biel is the perfect combo of heavenly and down-to-earth. In real life, Biel is as down to earth as her girl-next-door looks. She likes the simple things in life, such as her Vans and cheering on her favorite sports teams -- the Denver Broncos, L.A. Clippers and New England Patriots. Though she's finishing up the film "Stealth" in Australia, we caught up with Biel while she was at her home in Colorado. 1. Talk about "Blade: Trinity" ... what can we expect in this installment? And what was it like working with Wesley Snipes? Jessica Biel: This installment is full of action, drama and comedy. It has some different elements than the first two ("Blade" movies), which make it able to stand on its own. It's a roller coaster ride of emotions and genres. It can not simply be labeled an action movie. Working with Snipes was interesting because he's Blade on and off set. His fight scenes were inspiring to watch and his method process was something I've never experienced before. 2. In "Blade" you star as Whistler's daughter. Did you do your own stunts? Was there a lot of training involved? I did all of my own fighting and most of my stunts. I wasn't allowed to work with breaking glass, but everything else I did myself. I trained very hard for this role. I was in the gym six days a week -- fight training and archery training. I was also on a very strict diet. 3. Speaking of Whistler, have you ever listened to a Kris Kristofferson record? What is your favorite band ? I've never listened to a Kris Kristofferson record. I like lots of different kind of music but I'm really into Led Zeppelin right now.
![]() Move over Buffy, Jessica Biel is one hot vampire hunter, too. I am more of a vampire in my real life. 5. You were in "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and now you are in a vampire movie. In real life, what is scariest thing you've ever done? I went skydiving twice and the first time was really scary but exhilirating. 6.Next, you're staring as a pilot in the movie "Stealth" alongside Josh Lucas and Jamie Foxx (released this summer). Were you a "Top Gun" fan? And did you get a chance to fly in a fighter plane for the movie? I did like "Top Gun" as a kid, and I do like to fly. I never got to really fly in a fighter jet while filming though. 7.What can't Jessica Biel live without? I can't live without my cell phone or my sneakers -- I love my checkered Vans -- both are very important items in my life. 8.As an actor, do you feel more vulnerable on a live stage? Do you see yourself maybe trying some Broadway down the road? Actors are much more vulnerable on stage, being that it is a live performance. I was offered those musical theatre roles (note: it was reported she was offered the lead in "Rent" and "Beauty & the Beast") and I hope that someday I will be able to perform on stage. 9. Your character on "7th Heaven" was a high school hoops star, do you play basketball or did you enjoy playing other sports growing up? I played a lot of soccer and did gymnastics growing up. I definitely enjoy outdoor activities like snowboarding, biking, hiking and rollerblading. As a fan, are you Colorado or L.A.? I am definitely a Broncos fan but I am also a Clippers, Celtics and Patriots fan. 10. Did you make any resolutions for the new year? Yes, to take a photography class.
