BEVERLY HILLS, Calif -- Venus and Serena Williams don't exactly lead simple lives, but they are keeping it simple for viewers in their new reality TV show, "Venus & Serena: For Real," airing Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET (through Aug. 17) on the ABC Family Channel.

Venus and Serena Williams
Venus and Serena Williams are out to do it all -- from tennis, fashion, interior design, writing an autobiography to a new reality TV show.
The sisters from Compton, Calif., who boast a combined 11 Grand Slam titles, offer a revealing behind-the-scenes look into their everyday lives. You'll see Serena's reaction when her dog eats her dinner and then urinates on her couch. You'll see Venus working in her interior design office. And in each episode, you'll see them laugh, cry, interact with family and friends, struggle with injuries before the French Open and do what they do best -- play tennis.

In an exclusive interview with Page 3, the Williams sisters chatted about their new show, sisterhood and Venus' recent Wimbledon win.

1. What made you want to do a reality show?

Venus: Well, I think the first part is that you do see a lot of reality TV these days and a lot of it is in kind of a game show format. People are competing with each other either to stay on the island or what have you. And a lot of times you see celebrities doing a show. But nobody is doing what we do, because we're working girls. We do not take days off.

Serena: Also, we consider ourselves role models and we always thought that a lot of teenagers and a lot of pre-teens look up to us and say, "I want to be just like them. They're positive and they're fun." And yet, we know how to the split the competitive side and the fun side. So we thought that would be a good aspect to a show for a lot of teen girls out there (and boys too, of course).

2. Do you watch reality TV and if so, which shows do you like?

Venus: I think everybody gets into it a little bit. But unfortunately, we can't watch anything in succession because we're always away.

Serena It's kind of hard not to watch reality shows. It's hard for us though because we're always overseas or something and we get really upset when we miss them.

3. Venus, you just won Wimbledon. A lot of people had written you off. Can you talk about the redemption you feel in making some folks eat their words?

Venus: Well, first of all it's just very satisfying for me in my career because that's the whole goal -- to be successful in pretty much whatever I try. And tennis, of course, is pretty much my whole life. So, on that front it was great. And I think the whole experience was amazing. I played the top two players in the world and I was able to get through that.

Serena, how has her win affected you?

Serena: After seeing her win, I've been like super-motivated and super-charged. I've just got this great new battery pack that's never going to end. I've got an Energizer battery. So, I'm working out really hard and looking forward to next summer.

4. You live together, play against each other and sometimes travel together. Do you ever get on each other's nerves?

Serena: I think Venus is … Well, it's kind of hard for me sometimes to be around her because she's always doing something. Even now, she's going to school and I feel like, "Gosh, you know, I should be working on my degree. What am I doing?"

We don't have play time anymore because she's always on the computer. Honestly, one Saturday she spent all day on the computer. What was it? www.college.org or something like that? I'm like, "Are you serious? Why don't you just come to the pool?" I was at the pool and it was just really upsetting.

Venus: Oh, what don't I like? Serena, she gets to have all the fun, that's for sure. I'm working on it. She doesn't always return calls. It's quite difficult to find her. Definitely, she doesn't always return calls. So people ask me, "If you find Serena …" and I'm like, "You're on your own. Good luck."

Venus, are you the proverbial big sister?

Venus and Serena Williams
The Williams sisters consider themselves as role models for young girls.
Venus: Yes, I'm definitely the proverbial big sister. I'm always trying to take care of Serena and I always want her to have something before I do unless we're shopping for shoes and then I go for myself. Yeah, I can't help it.

Serena: It feels good because you know you can always count on someone. You might have friends and stuff but there's nothing like having family.

5. Do you have any regrets having those cameras follow you around for weeks?

Serena: I have no regrets about the cameras following me. I think there's a lot of believable moments that are going to be captured and a lot of drama. There's a little bit of everything.

Did you put any restrictions on the crew?

Venus: Yes, they could only film us while we were fully clothed!

Serena: We were pretty open to a lot of stuff besides the obvious. We knew going into the show that we were going to have to be open to a lot of stuff. It's a reality show. There were going to be cameras around. We just had to have an open mind and go forward with it.

6. Who has the more interesting off-camera life?

Serena: I think we both have really interesting lives. You can comment about me but Venus has an interior design company and she's at the office. She played more tournaments and she was training. You get to see the regimen she goes through when she's training. We were doing a lot of stuff, but I think off-court you'll see that Venus has a really interesting life.

Venus: Serena is very interesting, too. I think that we're interesting in different ways because we have different pursuits. But at the same time when we come together, we're doing the same thing. On that part, we're like equals.

7. What did your friends and family think about the show?

Venus: Well, people were nervous. But I said not to worry because much of it will probably end up on the editing room floor anyways, so it doesn't matter! You won't have to relive any of these bad moments! Most of them were pretty excited, actually. A lot of people wanted to be in this show but the show only went where me and Serena went, which was usually to the tennis courts.

8. What was the most embarrassing moment?

Serena: I didn't have any embarrassing moments.

Venus: There was one point when we were driving around in a golf cart and I dropped my towel when we were going to the beach. So, I got out of the cart. So every time I would try and get back in, my sister would drive off!

Serena: That can be annoying!

Venus: So, it was just very embarrassing because of all the people passing by in their cars. I was getting frustrated.

9. Now that it's over would you do this again?

Serena: I think we had an amazing crew that we worked with and great executive producers. I had a great time and I would do it again. It was so much fun.

Venus: I think so.

Serena: Plus there's so many other chapters that we can explore.

10. With all of the things that you do Serena -- fashion design and acting -- where does tennis fall? Is it still your number one?

Serena: Tennis is definitely still number one. It's our anchor.
