Since 2008, Negreanu had been shut out in the bracelet race, and year after year, he has seemed geniunely frustrated with less-than-ideal results at the WSOP (read: no wins). Last month in Melbourne, Negreanu was all smiles as he started his 2013 WSOP efforts off on the right foot. He battled against a talented final table to return to the winner's circle and capture his fifth WSOP bracelet in the WSOP Asia Pacific main event. After WSOP APAC, Negreanu finished fourth in the EPT Grand Final to push him to more than $1.5 million in earnings for the year.
Regardless of whether or not he needs it, Negreanu will begin his stint in Vegas with some added motivation as he is currently the leader in the Player of the Year race.
