The $1,000 rebuy event is one of both the players and media's favorites. Players yelling "rebuy" over and over again, and at $1,000 a pop, entering this tournament can get very costly. Unless your name is Michael Chu. The 27-year-old stock trader from Los Angeles never made one rebuy or add on and walked away with the WSOP bracelet and $585,744.

Chu started the final table fourth in chips with almost a half of chip leader Amir Vahedi's stack. By the time it was four handed, Chu had the chip lead and Vahedi was on the rail, finishing in seventh place. This was Chu's second trip to the WSOP, but his first cash.
