Keiner outlasts Greenstein, Raymer

6/12/2007

With two household names in Greg Raymer and Barry Greenstein heading into the final table at the WSOP, you wouldn't expect Michael Keiner to walk away with the bracelet. However, if you were a fan of the European poker scene, maybe you would've.

Keiner is a professional poker player from Frankfurt, Germany. The 48-year-old was a doctor before turning pro, and has won seven major poker tournaments in Europe before setting his sights on the WSOP, earning his first win in the U.S.

Keiner's victory in the $1,500 seven card stud event was his fifth cash at the WSOP and paid $146,987. Other notable finishes include Greenstein (fourth), Raymer (sixth), Ted Forrest (14th), and Mimi Tran (21st).
