How's this for a WSOP résumé: 26 cashes, $581,123 … and zero bracelets. Bill Gazes has accomplished everything at the WSOP except for winning a gold bracelet. Gazes had his chance again Sunday, but fell just short, finishing as the runner-up to Ralph Schwartz in the $5,000 HORSE event (Event 26).

The 28-year-old graduate from Northwestern University also had to outlast one of the most intimidating and best players in the game, Phil Ivey. Ivey had the chip lead with five players left, but faltered, finishing in fourth place. Gazes, on the other hand, was last in chips with five remaining and battled for his second-place finish.

Schwartz had one previous cash at the WSOP. In 2005, he finished in 100th place in a $1,500 no-limit hold 'em event, earning $3,500.

Other notable finishers include Robert Mizrachi (sixth, and his second final table of the year), David Benyamine (14th), Gavin Smith (21st), and Doyle Brunson (22nd).
