Lisandro wins first bracelet

6/25/2007

Although he's been one of the biggest names in the poker world, Jeffrey Lisandro had never won a WSOP bracelet until Thursday night. Lisandro entered the final table with a chip lead and managed to hold on to win the $2,000 seven-card stud event.

Although Lisandro had won a $10,000 WSOP-related event (WSOP Circuit at Lake Tahoe), the 41-year-old professional poker player finally removed his name from the list of great players without a bracelet.

In his second final-table appearance, Daniel Negreanu entered the final table just behind Lisandro but finished in sixth place. Nick Frangos made his fourth final-table appearance of his career but also failed to win his first bracelet, finishing in third. Frangos' final table record includes a third, two fourth, and with his finish on Thursday, a second.

Other notable finishers include Howard Lederer (ninth), Mel Judah (tenth), David Chiu (13th), and Marcel Luske (22nd).
