Another one off the list: Tran wins bracelet

The list of well-known players without a bracelet just got shorter. JC Tran, perhaps one of the most talented players in the game, won his first bracelet in Event 49, $1,500 no-limit hold 'em. Tran's success isn't surprising, especially noting the fact that he defeated a field of 2,718 to win his first bracelet. Born in Vietnam, Tran is the youngest of eight and currently lives in Sacramento, California.
Tran has cashed 22 times at the World Series of Poker since 2004, but has had notable success elsewhere with a victory on the World Poker Tour and many top-10 finishes across the country. He has also made three final tables at the 2008 WSOP, with a fifth and seventh place finish in his two previous appearances. He followed up his victory with another cash in Event 53 for his seventh of the series.
Speaking to Tran on Monday night, he mentioned that he was extremely happy with his victory.
"It's a great accomplishment," Tran said, with something notably missing from his wrist. "But I'm keeping the bracelet at home."
With his victory Tran currently moves to the top of the Bluff/ESPN Poker Power Rankings and earned $631,170 for first the win. Lifetime, Tran has $6,703,667 in career earnings.
Other notable finishers include Joe Pelton (fifth), Men Nguyen (25th) and David Pham (26th).
