For the sixth time in 14 final tables, the seats at Event 13's final table ($2,500 no-limit hold 'em) were filled with players looking for their first bracelet and their chance to be engraved into the WSOP record books. On Sunday, six-time WSOP casher Keven Stammen made his seventh one to remember with a victory on poker's biggest stage and earned that honor.

Stammen
IMPDI 2009Keven Stammen has $654,911 in career tournament winnings.

Stammen, a 23-year-old professional poker player from Celina, Ohio, is more experienced than his age would indicate. Playing since he was a teenager in the clubs in Ohio and then, as he got older, in the casinos in Windsor, Canada, he's been playing in cash games and tournaments to build the experience needed to succeed on a larger scale. In addition to his seven WSOP cashes, Stammen has three WSOP Circuit cashes, including an 18th-place finish in the Circuit main event in October, 2007. It seems as if he's always at the tables and now, his dedication has paid off.

"It's good to have a bracelet," Stammen said to the WSOP. "Last year I came out here and cashed four times. I got close a few times. But I took a few beats. This [win] sure makes up for it."

The final table was an all-North American event with six Americans, two Canadians and one Mexican in the running. The action was extremely quick as Stammen held all the chips after only 70 hands, with five players eliminated during the first 33.

Stammen earned $506,786 for the victory over 1,088 players.

Other notable finishers include Roland de Wolfe (15th), Kirill Gerasimov (17th) and Phil Ivey (18th).
