Following in the footsteps of Praz Bansi, James Dempsey and Richard Ashby, Ellis' bracelet puts the United Kingdom into second in the world rankings. Despite having four bracelets to Canada's three, the United Kingdom finds itself third in the money standings, trailing Canada by $68,000.

"The British players have had a fantastic year," said Ellis. "And you can see from all the support we get. We are all kind of rooting for each other here and we come together. We are all friends and we know each other back home. It's nice to see all of us doing well. It's great."

During the final tables of each of these events, the stands have been filled with British players and fans. The support was very welcome to Ellis, who was simply excited to take his place among the 2010 champions.

"This means absolutely everything," said the Oxford graduate. "It's definitely the marking post for playing poker. If you have won a bracelet, then you have really achieved something playing poker … I love the game. I absolutely love the game. I never tire of it. There is always a different situation. It's a challenge to work things out."

The final table of this event was also special in a different way: It was filled completely with amateurs. Every player had jobs away from the felt which meant their success, and the money, could definitely change their lives. Ellis would have to take down a variety of players from around the world at the final table, finally eliminating Christopher Gonzalez for the bracelet.

The following video includes some highlights of this event and Ellis' victory:

Other notable finishers from Event 30 include David Sands (18th), Carlos Mortensen (23rd) and Adam Levy (98th).
