Polychronopoulos pockets WSOP gold
The good news is you're not the one announcing the winner's name anytime soon.
Players with all manner of names entered and were eliminated from Event 48, a $1,500 no-limit hold 'em event. When the dust settled though, it was the man with the longest name in the history of WSOP bracelet winners who stood tall. Athanasios Polychronopoulos of Southampton, NY is your champion.

Polychronopoulos, 27, has been playing poker professionally since 2003, with over $2 million in online tournament winnings to his credit. With the revelations of Black Friday, he's been off his online diet for almost three months. Apparently, that's given him some time to hone his live game.
Sporting just one live cash before the 2011 WSOP, Polychronopoulos made his second cash of the Series count. Outlasting a field of 2,713, he won $650,223 for surviving the four-day event. With less than $10,000 in live tournament earnings coming in, it's safe to say this victory represents a step forward for Polychronopoulos' live efforts.
Second place went to Canada's Simon Charette, who was notching his fifth cash of the 2011 WSOP. Despite making the money so often, Charette had only earned a total $42,588 in four previous cashes, so it's the $404,235 earnings for second place that define his as one of the more successful WSOP ventures this year.
Without question, the biggest name at the final table was Yevgeniy Timoshenko. For Timoshenko, the $206,348 he received for his fourth-place finish represented his second six-figure score of the 2011 WSOP. He previously finished second in the $25,000 no-limit hold 'em heads-up world championship. Timoshenko has accomplished a lot throughout his career and it won't be long until he'll be the one holding a bracelet
Other notable names in the money included Michael Demichele (25th), Alex Bolotin (42nd), Sorel Mizzi (32nd) and Howard Andrew (151st).
