Beethaven Scottland's funeral expenses will be paid for by heavyweight championship Hasim Rahman, the fighter's manager confirmed Wednesday to The New York Times.
The date and location of services for Scottland has not been determined.
Scottland, 26, died Monday night at the Bellevue Hospital Center in New York after getting knocked out in the waning seconds of a 10-round fight televised on ESPN2. He was in a coma for six days.
Rahman's manager Stan Hoffman, told The Times, that International Boxing Federation and World Boxing Council heavyweight champion will pay for expenses.
Rahman and Scottland both were trained by Adrian Davis, and they knew each other from the gym. Scottland had been training with Davis since he was a teenager, and Rahman had signed Davis to be his trainer more than a year ago.
