Draftermath

By by Brandon Funston

The NBA draft -- and what came next -- was, in a word, fantastic. In two words, all good. But what now? The Gamer has some words to offer on the deals:

Trade: Mike Bibby for Jason Williams
JWill is overrated. We all know it. But White Chocolate will get free rein in Memphis, and the best fantasy numbers of his career-something like 15 points, eight assists. James Naismith, meanwhile, will set a record for in-the-grave revolutions. If, and only if, CWebb re-signs in Sacto, Bibby vaults into your top five guards.

Trade: Shareef Abdur-Rahim to the Hawks
In Atlanta, Abdur-Rahim now has two teammates, Jason Terry and Toni Kukoc, who can put up 20 points each. So add around four dimes a night to the 20 points per that Reef has averaged over his five pro years. By my math, that comes to a second-round steal at draft time.

Trade: Jason Kidd for Stephon Marbury
Kidd gets nine assists in the shower. That won't change, even with all those nonfinishers in Jersey. I won't be shocked to see him push 20 points a night, which would be a career-best and mean that the best fantasy point guard just got better. A close second? Marbury, with Shawn Marion and maybe a healthy Penny (yeah, right) on his flanks in Phoenix.

Trade: Elton Brand to the Clippers
Brand will give you 20 points and 10 boards a night. That's not news. What is news is that he'll make Michael Olowokandi a legit fantasy center. With Brand drawing frontcourt attention, Kandi should quit if he doesn't average a double-double for the first time ever.
