What was Shawn Estes thinking?

Page 2 staff

As usual, a lot of strange stuff is happening in the world of sports -- and in the real world, for that matter. So, Page 2 is here once again to try to make sense of all the weirdness with another edition of "What the Heck Are They Thinking?"

Shawn Estes
New Yorkers continue to debate Shawn Estes' intentions.
We've tried to figure out what some prominent folks might be thinking -- if anything -- and the best we could do was come up with multiple possibilities, all equally plausible. So, as always, we are asking for your help. Check out the options for each questionable act or quote, and vote in the poll to move on to yet another strange story.

What the heck was Shawn Estes thinking when he threw the first pitch well behind Roger Clemens during the Yankees-Mets game Saturday?

A. "There's no way I want this dude charging the mound on me with an unbroken bat in his hands."

B. "Geez, the guy weighs a deuce and a half, and I still missed his big butt."

C. "Let's see, he's probably going to immediately back up ... so, I'll throw this baby about three feet behind him."

D. "Hey, I was a Giant when he hit Piazza. It was two freakin' years ago, people! This baby ain't gonna be in the same area code as Roger."

E. "The last thing I want to do is get fined by baseball, so I'll just buzz him a little."

F. "WWRDD?" (Translation: What Would Rob Dibble Do?)
