Berezin makes fourth move since 2000-01 season

SportsTicker

CHICAGO -- Sergei Berezin is on the move again.

The Chicago Blackhawks acquired the left wing from the Montreal Canadiens on Sunday for a fourth-round pick in the 2004 draft.

Berezin joins his fourth team in just over a year after a subpar 2001-02 season. The 30-year-old Russian started the campaign with the Phoenix Coyotes but was traded to the Canadiens on Jan. 25 in a deal involving right wing Brian Savage. Berezin totaled a career-low 11 goals and 15 assists in 70 games.

A 1994 eighth-round pick of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Berezin had a career season in 1998-99 with 37 goals and 32 assists. His goal-scoring production has dropped each season since.
