Who should play Tony Soprano?

Page 2 staff

Before "The Sopranos" finally returns for its much-anticipated fourth season Sunday night, Page 2 asked our readers to re-cast the popular HBO TV series with "actors" from the sports world.

For six key characters, we've compiled four candidates suggested by our readers along with one nominee of our own.

Tony Soprano
Tony Soprano
Beginning with lead character below, vote for the sports personality you believe would best portray Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini), the complex head of the crime family and the suburban New Jersey nuclear family.

After voting for your pick to portray Tony, we'll take you to the poll to choose who should play Tony's wife, Carmela Soprano. Continue voting for your choices until you're done re-casting mob "hit."

George Steinbrenner
Page 2's pick.

Bill Parcells
Another cranky, arrogant Joisey boy. He understands that the chain of command is very important and treats it like a sacred institution. Careful, almost to the point of paranoia. The ends to his means are smooth success. Sure, some guys hate him, but others are fiercely loyal.
Ghizal Hasan, Los Angeles

Tony Siragusa
The toughness of a lineman, with the charm of a heavy Italian. Large and imposing. Can go from jovial to menacing in the flicker of an eye. Will instinctively respond to name "Tony," saving time on alternate takes.
Jason Logue, Pittsburgh

George Karl
Just when you think this fat bald guy is happy, he snaps and threatens to turn his whole "family" upside down.
Justin, Lexington, Va.

Mike Ditka
Tough-guy persona, who can curse like a true Soprano.
Louis Smyth, New Orleans
