What's hot, not for the week

New York's Fashion Week -- notable for even more celeb sightings than usual, even more parties we can't get into and, yes, even more unattainable models (or are they ... keep reading). There couldn't be a more appropriate time to examine the young NFL season and project which jerseys will be the hottest looks of the fall and winter -- at frat houses, in hip-hop videos, at stadium tailgates and -- we can't imagine why not -- at the parties the models go to:


	Michael Vick's No. 7 jersey is a hot little item.

Any jersey-as-fashion discussion has to start with the heaviest hitter, Michael Vick, who sports No. 7 for the Falcons (but how soon before everyone has one?). On the other hand, avoid being sacked in the formerly scorching Steelers No. 10 (Kordell Stewart) ...

If you're looking for a can't-go-wrong classic, try hanging out in Brett Favre's No. 4. We wish we could say the same thing about Kurt Warner (Rams No. 13) -- for the last few years, a great look, now just passé ...

While we're talking about flame-outs, break out your No. 10 Browns jersey while Kelly Holcombe still has the hot touch, but think about giving one-hit wonder Shaun Alexander (Seahawks No. 37) to Good Will ...

Filed under "don't say we didn't give you a heads up," you can own the party this week by getting your hands on a Panthers No. 9 Rodney Peete; try trading away your Texans No. 8 David Carr for it (yes, we know what we said about it a few weeks ago) ...

Finally, if you're looking for a jersey to take a flier on, try Detroit No. 3 Joey Harrington. No, not because he nor the team is going to find on-field success; with Eminem's hugely anticipated film "8 Mile" set to hit movie theaters this fall, Detroit will be the next Hotlanta. At least, that's what our friends near the runway are saying ...
