What was Hootie Johnson thinking?
Page 2 staff
What the heck was Hootie Johnson thinking when he found out the Ku Klux Klan was coming to the 2003 Masters to demonstrate its support for Augusta National's no-women-members-allowed policy?
"I'd like to annouce we just received an endorsement from al Qaeda."
A. "Promoting the master race at The Masters ... that demonstrates some real marketing savvy."
B. "The KKK, Martha Burke, and Jesse Jackson ... put them in a New York City
apartment with me as their wacky neighbor and you have a sweet sitcom
premise."
C. "If only Sam Snead were alive to rifle an errant tee shot at these jokers."
D. "Ooh, maybe we'll have burning crosses on the 14th green. Kinda like the
windmill at Putt-Putt."
E. "Will the white hoods clash with the green jackets? Who am I kidding, white goes with everything."
F. "Well, at least we don't have to order any extra tablecloths for the post-tourney banquet."
