What was Steve Bartman thinking?
Page 2 staff
What the heck was Cubs' fan Steve Bartman thinking when he tried to catch a foul ball that might have wound up in Chicago left-fielder Moises Alou's glove for the second out in the Marlins' eight-run eighth inning of Game 6 in the NLCS?
"I just wanted a souvenir of the Cubs monumental collapse."
A. "If I don't screw up Game 6 for the Cubs, how am I going to scalp my tickets for Game 7?"
B. "When you enter the FBI's relocation program, you get to meet Henry Hill, right?"
C. "Wow, I don't feel so good. Maybe that goat-cheese sandwich at lunch wasn't such a good idea. Hey, look! Here comes a ball!"
D. "Let Alou get his own damn souvenir ball."
E. "Everybody in the house do the Bart-man, raise your glove catch the ball if you're a Cubs fan."
F. "I wonder if Dusty has any theories about white guys and idiocy."
