What was Renee Zellweger thinking?

Page 2 staff

What the heck was actress Renee Zellweger thinking when she agreed to beef up from her summer weight of 106 pounds to star in the sequel to "Bridget Jones Diary"? (She reportedly is gaining the weight by eating pizza, pasta, doughnuts, potatotes, cheeseburgers and milk shakes.)

Renee also will be starring in Sir Mix Alot's new video.
A. "The great thing is, after I lose the weight again, I can take over for that sorry-ass Jared on those annoying Subway ads."

B. "I have an audition coming up for 'The Anna Nicole Smith Story,' anyway, so this kills two birds with one stone."

C. "It's completely safe. The studio has even hired a professional athlete to help me with the diet. I think his name is David Wells."

D. "Ten shakes for breakfast. Ten shakes for lunch. And a sensible dinner."

E. "There's a critical scene in the sequel where Bridget takes on Takeru Kobayashi in a hot-dog-eating contest."

F. "With all this junk food I'm eating, they're going to have to call the sequel 'Bridget Jones' Diarrhea'."
