Comedian hasn't responded to Ohio team
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Comedian and hockey aficionado Denis Leary has been offered a one-game contract by the Columbus Stars of the United Hockey League.
Leary would be paid about $300 dollars, the standard
one-game salary for a player.
The Stars' general manager said a percentage of the game's
proceeds will be donated to the comedian's Leary Firefighters
Leary's publicist says he had not heard of the offer but would
discuss it with him. He says that Leary, who often plays in
charity hockey games, might be interested if the appearance
doesn't conflict with his schedule.
Leary would join the Stars for the morning skate and then suit
up for a home game at the 57-hundred-seat Ohio Expo Center
