Blackhawks re-sign Poapst, Robidas
CHICAGO -- The Chicago Blackhawks re-signed
defensemen Steve Poapst and Stephane Robidas to one-year
contracts on Thursday.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Poapst, 35, led all Blackhawks defenseman in ice time with an
average of more than 22 minutes per game last season. He had
two goals and two assists with a plus-minus of minus-16.
The 6-0, 199-pound Poapst has appeared in 245 NHL games with
Washington and Chicago, totaling eight goals, 23 assists and
126 penalty minutes.
Robidas, 27, was acquired from Dallas last November in a deal
for Jon Klemm and had three goals and 10 assists with a
plus-minus of plus-4 in 59 games with Chicago.
The 5-11, 190-pound Robidas suffered a fractured cheekbone when
he was struck in the face with a puck in a February 29 game
against Florida, forcing him to miss the rest of the season.
The Blackhawks on Thursday also re-signed right wing Jason
Morgan, who was acquired from Calgary in a trade for Ville
Nieminen last February, and signed left wing Rene Bourque - who
led the University of Wisconsin with 16 goals and 20 assists
