Week 7: Let's pick 'em
By Bill Simmons Page 2
Quick Picks for Week 7 ...
Home teams in capsGIANTS (-6.5) over Lions
We're going to look up in Week 14 and the Giants are going to be something like 10-3, and everyone's going to collectively say, "Wait ... what????"
Bills (+5.5) over RAVENS
The upset special. Although it's always fun to root for a team with a RB named "Chester."
SG BY THE NUMBERS
Favorites -- 37-48-3 Home Teams -- 36-49-3 Home Underdogs -- 11-12-1 Underdogs winning outright -- 36 for 48 (75%)
Eagles (-7) over BROWNS
Let's keep riding this Eagles team until somebody gives them a game. Seriously. You and me.
COLTS (-9.5) over Jags
Same with the Colts. We'll go twinsies.
VIKINGS (-7) over Titans
Beware of the "Team that used to be good, so everyone keeps operating under the assumption that they're good because they have most of the same guys, even though they just aren't good anymore" team.
Chargers (+3) over PANTHERS
Two teams headed in opposite directions.
DOLPHINS (+6) over Rams
I can't think of a single reason to take the Dolphins ... so you know what that means ...
BUCS (-7) over Bears
The Bucs are four games behind the Falcons in the NFC South right now...
CHIEFS (-4) over Falcons
...and it will be one game back by mid-November.
PATRIOTS (-6) over Jets
I can't think of a worse 5-0 team in NFL history than the Jets. Even Jets fans aren't excited about this team.
PACKERS (-3.5) over Cowboys
I can't pick Vinny anymore. I just can't. Does he hold the career record for "Most turnovers while you're team is running out the clock" at this point? He has to, right?
CARDINALS (+7) over Seahawks
Don't stick the Seahawks in a two-team teaser. I'm telling you. Don't do it. You will regret it. They are NOT to be trusted.
Saints (+3) over RAIDERS
When in doubt, take the points. By the way, any game pitting Jim Haslett and Aaron Brooks against Norv Turner and Kerry Collins is one for the ages.
Broncos (-6) over BENGALS
Over-under of prolonged Jon Kitna closeups on the sidelines on Monday night: 57.
Last week: 6-8 Season: 46-39-3
