What was Pellman thinking?
Page 2 staff
What the heck was Dr. Elliott J. Pellman thinking when he allowed discrepancies on his résumé to appear in media guides and handouts? Among other discrepancies, Dr. Pellman, Major League Baseball's medical advisor who praised MLB's steroids policy at the recent congressional hearing, claimed in his biographical material that he has a medical degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, when he apparently attended medical school in Guadalajara, Mexico. Pellman also has identified himself as an associate clinical professor at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, when in fact he is an assistant clinical professor a much less prestigious position.
"Guadalajara is one of the top medical schools ... in Mexico."
A. "Hey, I was down there for spring break, and decided to stay for medical school. Could happen to anybody."
B. "I've watched 'House' like eight times ... so step off!"
C. "How do you think I learned so much about la crema y el claro?"
D. "I'm not here to talk about the past."
E. "If you want to have an exclusive surgery with me, Dr. Elliott J. Pellman, dial 1-800-DOCTORB. Note the extra 'B' is for 'BARGAIN.'"
F. "I did, however, stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night."
