Garrison shows up in Sports Illustrated

Walt Garrison, who last month served as master of ceremonies at the ProRodeo Hall of Fame induction, showed up in Sports Illustrated earlier this month under the "Where are they now?" section.

Garrison played football for the Dallas Cowboys and competed at the timed-event end of the arena as well during the late 1960s and 1970s.

The Cowboys fullback was known for his toughness and willingness to block or run for legendary coach Tom Landry. He was a member of the 1971 world championship team.

Garrison, a longtime associate of U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Co., still ropes some and stays in touch with all of his football buddies from those glory days such as Don Meredith, Charlie Watters, Roger Staubach and Bob Lilly.

At the induction ceremony, Garrison let the admiring public hold his Super Bowl ring from 1971.
