People Much Better Than Me
Tony Dungy. I get a few e-mails every year telling me how I should write about all the unwritten things Dungy does for people. And yet when I call Dungy to ask him, he refuses to talk about it. Publicly, he donates his image and his time to All-Pro Dad, an organization that offers 24-hour practical advice to men on how to be a better father; Basket of Hope, which helps kids with cancer; Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis; the American Diabetes Association. Privately, he's adopted children, consoled grieving parents who, like him, lost children, and has written countless checks for people thrown off the carousel of life. Obama ought to call him right now. He is 1,000 points of light under one hat.
