Clip Reel: Marquette Hoops

Hug it out.

What is "Clip Reel?"

On Saturday, we were looking to kill some time mid-afternoon between a conference and playing roughly five hours of Mario Kart with our friends. We dropped into a bar for a quick lunch, and happened to pick a watering hole hosting a Marquette game watch party. Got into a conversation with a Golden Eagle alum north of 50, and told him, "Even though they're Top 10, they don't feel like a team that's going to make it past the Sweet 16." He rolled his eyes at us. Frankly, he may have been right to do that. Marquette trashed ND last night and are off to a ridic 18-2 start. Let's take a closer look.

Here's the official site. Here's the Wikipedia on the men's hoops program. This is the landing page for Marquette stories on the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's web site. Sweet feature we ran on Jerel McNeal and Maurice Acker. Marquette basketball does "Remember the Titans," video style. Marquette Basketball Boot Camp 2008. Visiting a children's hospital. The seniors on the team sing "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer." Here's highlights from their game against Tennessee in December. Here's the '06-'07 pre-game tip video. "The Partner Dance." Here's a 2008 non-conference recap, via video. "Buzz's Brunch." What is the MU Gameday experience like? An interview with MU's Director of Basketball Operations on camera. Buzz Williams mic'd up at practice. Interesting. David Cubillian 1 on 1. "Buzz and Doc." This is a six-minute video of their highlights from last season as a team. Here's a shorter rip of only Dominic James highlights. McNeal and Acker at Midnight Madness. The opening of the McGuire Center has to find its way on here. We'll throw a 2003 Final Four team (D-Wade) clip on here as well. Also seems appropriate to show the Women's Hoops team dancing to "Thriller." Marquette Madness 2008 videos! Converse's D-Wade Marquette commercial. Marquette Watch is a good site to bookmark.
