Bison a crowd favorite in Minneapolis
MINNEAPOLIS -- If you have even a remote affiliation with North Dakota State University, you're probably here.
Bison fans are out in force to watch their team play its first ever NCAA tournament game in its first attempt at reaching the tournament. It's not a massive crowd here at the Metrodome, but at least two-thirds of the fans are donning yellow and green and forming the Bison horns with their hands.
Boos greeted Kansas as the defending national champs took the floor for pregame warm-ups, while North Dakota State was welcomed with a roar. A group of Dayton fans stood and cheered when the Bison were introduced, and fans of the other five teams at this site probably are backing the Bison as well.
This could feel like a road game for a young Kansas team, and how the Jayhawks handle the first few minutes should tell a lot about their tournament viability.
