RB White considers Big Ten offers

Running back Austin White (Livonia, Mich./Stevenson) is coming off two similar and outstanding seasons. White moved up to the varsity during the second half of his freshman season. He has been a full-time starter since the beginning of his sophomore season.

White rushed for 1,606 yards and scored 30 times his sophomore year. He rushed for 1,610 yards on 200 carries his junior season. White scored 30 times rushing and had four more receiving touchdowns that season.

The 6-foot-0 and 190-pound White combines speed with the ability to make tacklers miss, as well as pretty good strength. He has run the 40-yard dash in 4.42 seconds and is also on the Stevenson basketball and track teams.

White has scholarship offers from Michigan State, Michigan, Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Purdue and Bowling Green. LSU, Oregon, Florida State, Georgia and Alabama are among the other schools showing the most interest.

"Right now I'm looking at every school," White said. "I want to look around so I can make the right decision."

White has attended junior days at Michigan, Michigan State, Illinois and Iowa. He will likely visit some or all of those schools again, as well as some he has not seen yet.

"Right now I plan to wait until after the (football) season and take official visits," White said. "I want to know the school I pick is where I really want to be."

Michigan star visits Penn State

Defensive end C.J. Olaniyan (Warren, Mich./ Mott) visited Penn State over the weekend. Olaniyan and Mott Coach Tom Milanov were in State College on Friday.

"We left after school on Thursday and visited Penn State on Friday," Milanov said. "He was impressed with the coaching staff. He liked Penn State."

The 6-foot-4 and 230-pound Olaniyan is one of the top prospects in the state of Michigan. He has been a varsity starter at defensive end and as a flex receiver since the beginning of his sophomore season.

Olaniyan made 85 tackles including nine sacks during his junior season. He has 14 tackles for loss. On the other side of the ball Olaniyan caught 33 passes and scored three times.

Olaniyan has scholarship offers from Penn State, Michigan, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Iowa, Indiana, Oregon, Kentucky and Virginia Tech.

In addition to Penn State, Olaniyan has visited Michigan and Michigan State.

"He enjoyed all three visits," Milanov said. "He is going to visit Iowa this coming weekend."

Milanov expects his star defensive lineman to wait until sometime during the football season or just after it to select a college.
