A Frustrating Day in the Desert
For the first time in awhile, the Miller Lite Dodge never really threatened to take the lead at any point during a race, and we basically held our ground all day in Phoenix, shuffling between 5th and 20th place depending on pit cycles and strategy.
There have been quite a few races this year when we've had a better car than our finish indicated, and Texas was no different. We clearly had a top-three car for most of the race, but found our way into some bad luck again, this time with a couple of tire issues from the mid-point of the race on.
Our eye-catching gold-painted Miller Lite Dodge had a great chance to take the checkered-flag in Atlanta, but some late pit-road strategy and a bizarre finish put us back in 8th place. There have been a bunch of weird finishes this season, and you could probably put this one at the top of the heap.
