Alice in Chains & Friends Fantasy Football Charity League newcomer Meat Loaf blasted out of the gates like a … oh, what is it … what's the right expression for a quick start?

You knew we'd have to go there at some point, and it's just fitting after Michael Aday's Hell In A Handbasket scored a league-best 144 points against Alice in Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell's JC Aroma of Tacoma in Week 1.

Meat Loaf is new to the AIC charity league, but he's a longtime fantasy football veteran who used that experience to get 41 fantasy points from Houston Texans running back Arian Foster, 26 from Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson and 19 from Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer. The rest of the roster's output was just gravy (really, no pun intended), as that trio of players would have been enough to top the 83 points scored by Cantrell's team.

That led the league founder to post the following message to the rest of the teams on the message board before Monday night's games had even begun:

God Help Me

I needed more than a 9-foot guardian angel on my side this week to combat team Aday's freakish output. Jesus … are you kidding me? Matt Forte saved my underperforming squad and gave me a total that wouldve been competitive with anyone else in the league.

Perfect. good luck fellas … you'll need it. On the bright side, the Seahawks and Steelers both won and that always makes me a happy man. Mike, nice work taking down the champ. looks like Duff has Mr. Harris with four left to play. Scott is going to win a matchup that looks a lot like the Redskin Cowboy game. Vinnie ,what the hell happened to Dallas???? Then there is the "Is it really Zakk Wylde playing his team or someone else?" Doom Crew taking down Kenny Wayne. I love it.

Well, when you get your ass kicked good and proper there's only one thing to do … dust yourself off and try and do the same thing to someone else next week. Till then.
