Hottest teams in hell of a matchup

11/19/2010 - NFL

A three-game winning streak has led Meat Loaf back to the top of the standings in the Alice in Chains & Friends Fantasy Football Charity League, but his Hell In A Hand Basket faces another red-hot team this week.

Vinnie Paul's Team Brickwall Brickwall (5-5) has also won three games in a row in an impressive climb from near the bottom of the standings to the thick of the playoff race. It's the drummer for Hellyeah versus the man better known for "Bat Out Of Hell."

Last week, Hell In A Hand Basket (7-3) beat Jerry Cantrell's JC Aroma Of Tacoma 102-84. It was the second time this season JC Aroma Of Tacoma (6-4) lost to Meat Loaf and the league founder expressed his frustration on the league message board:

JC Aroma Of Tacoma

Well I gave it my best shot but Meat snatched victory away from me at the last minute. Even if I make the playoffs I'm going to have to go head to head with Mr. Aday who has swept me for the season. three games left, folks.
Good luck.

What are the chances that the cagey McKagan kid, is still in the running?! Chin up JC! I read ya man!

Right on, brother

And history was made earlier this week with the first trade in the two seasons of the AIC charity league. The Aroma sent Jets wide receiver Braylon Edwards and Rams quarterback Sam Bradford to struggling Halfway Clueless (1-7-2) for Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan. Although Ryan is the eighth-ranked QB in fantasy football, Matt Willig's team already has fourth-rated Peyton Manning of the Colts.

The trade deadline is Wednesday.

Participants in the Alice in Chains & Friends Fantasy Football Charity League will each put one valuable item up for auction by the end of the season. The league champion will get to designate which charity receives the proceeds of the auction. More details on the auction will be announced in the coming weeks.

Weekly updates on the Alice in Chains & Friends Fantasy Football Charity League, trash talk and interviews with the owners will be published in ESPN.com's The Life and Music sections throughout the season. Members of the league also will drop by for occasional chats on SportsNation.
