And then there was one
The big showdown for first place in the Alice In Chains & Friends Charity Fantasy Football League turned into a blowout as Zakk Wylde's Doom Crew Inc. romped 125-60 over Vinnie Paul's The Brickwall in Week 4.
Doom Crew Inc.'s deft move to pick up Steve Smith of the New York Giants on Sept. 17 is paying off big with 25 points last week for the No. 1-ranked wide receiver in ESPN.com's Fantasy Football.
Now Wylde's Doom Crew Inc. (4-0) stands alone as the only unbeaten team and next faces the 1-3 Team 9 owned by Kenny Aronoff.
The Brickwall will try to bounce back in Week 5 against Matthew Berry's Team Berry. The Talented Mr. Roto pulled himself out of last place and temporarily put a halt to the insults by beating Jerry Cantrell's JC Aroma of Tacoma 83-68.
Each participant in the Alice In Chains & Friends Charity Fantasy Football League will put up one valuable item for auction by the end of the season. The league champion will designate which charity receives the auction's proceeds. More details on the auction will be announced in the coming weeks.
Weekly updates on the Alice In Chains & Friends Charity Fantasy Football League, trash talk and interviews with the owners will be published on ESPN.com's The Life section throughout the season. Members of the league also will drop by SportsNation for occasional chats.
Here are the standings after Week 4, with a look ahead to this weekend's matchups (mouse over the photos for bios of the participants):
