Match the hitter with at-bat music
This week's Batter's Hit Box game focuses on the St. Louis Cardinals, but superstar slugger Albert Pujols is a glaring omission.
Pujols this year chose "The Professor" by Carson Jones as his at-bat walk-up music.
If you've never heard of Jones, you're not alone because the Christian artist's music isn't available on iTunes or CD Universe.
Cardinals staff said Pujols has been known to choose Christian music that's out of the mainstream for his at-bat songs.
Pujols' National League-leading 34 home runs, 90 RBIs and .450 on-base percentage and second-ranked.328 average through Wednesday should be enough for many other notoriously superstitious players to consider a personal conversion -- or at least some broader musical enlightenment for their iPods.
