MONROE, La. -- Former Utah State player and Navy assistant coach Danilo Robinson joined the Louisiana-Monroe coaching staff on Monday.
Robinson will work primarily with the defensive line.
Robinson was a defensive lineman under current Indians coach Charlie Weatherbie at Utah State, and later joined Weatherbie's coaching staff when Weatherbie moved on to Navy.
"It's good to have some guys that know you, and you know them, to get started off with," said Weatherbie, who was hired by Louisiana-Monroe in late June. "He knows what I'm thinking, he knows where I'm coming from and how I handle things."
Robinson still holds Utah State's record for sacks in one game with five. He was about to begin his first season as head coach at Northview High School in Covina, Calif., when he left to join Weatherbie's staff.
